Orlando International Airport – Food Court

Orlando, Florida

  • 85,400 sq. ft.
  • Associated Architect: Schenkel Shultz Architecture

The OIA Landside Level 3 “Center Court” was the primary focus of an 85,400 sq. ft., $30,000,000 redevelopment of the retail corridor between East and West atriums and North and South retail corridors. Interior design for this 926-seat food court in the center of the terminal between the major gate hubs focused on integrating the airport’s signature “Orlando Experience,” creating a unique rest spot for traveling guests. Ramski & Company developed the palette as an extension of the architecture.

Key materials were terrazzo, teak, maple and limestone. The focal point of the food court is a large cylindrical tropical fish tank and the encircling lounge area. The large-scale teak lounge furniture is unique, comfortable and inviting. The interior designer’s responsibilities included materials selection and development, design detailing, finish and furniture research, specification and detailing, and installation supervision.
