GOAA Airside 4 Renovation – Federal Inspection Station

Orlando International Airport, Orlando, FL

  • 115,788 sq. ft.
  • Associated Architects: KBJ-L&B Architects, MLM Martin Architects
  • 2019 ABC Eagle Awards Project of the Year
  • ENR Southeast 2019 Best Projects Award of Merit

The Airside 4 renovation project included the renovation and expansion of the Federal Inspection Station, relocation and reconfiguration of the TSA screening areas, renovation and addition to the 90’s gates (to create 4 swing gates for jumbo aircraft and international service) and renovation of the 80’s gates for egress.

Ramski & Company performed the following services: Material and furniture specification, detailing for interior concept by prime architect KBJ-L&B Architects, construction documentation, and construction administration. Construction administration for this renovation was complicated by federal security restrictions, CBP standards revisions in the course of the project construction and the requirement to maintain day to day operations. The result was a 16 phase build out and a 2-year construction administration commitment.
